On 2 August 2025, at the start of Mamut 2018’s MBA and SilverHoops basketball camps, DIASPORTCAMP project —co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Sport programme—held a vital in-person workshop on diabetes management. Thirty coaches and support staff from Serbia, Croatia and Romania gathered at Hotel Srebrno Jezero for a focused session led by Project Coordinator Saša Ćirić and diabetes specialist Jovana Živić from Plavi Krug.
Participants learned practical skills: accurate blood-glucose checks, recognising early warning signs during drills and adjusting training routines to ensure athlete safety. Interactive demonstrations allowed coaches to watch each technique in action and ask real-time questions.
An anonymous evaluation showed strong approval, with attendees ready to implement new protocols immediately. A networking lunch followed, giving Mamut 2018, HAŠK Mladost and MP Sport partners a chance to plan how these skills will enhance the camp’s inclusive atmosphere. Coaches now head to the court equipped with both knowledge and confidence.
