Launching the DIASPORTCAMP Project: A Successful Opening Meeting in Kragujevac

On January 8-9, 2025, project partners convened in Kragujevac, Serbia, for the official opening meeting of the DIASPORTCAMP project. Hosted by Mamut 2018, the meeting marked the beginning of a dynamic collaboration under the Erasmus+ program, bringing together key stakeholders from across Europe to promote sports engagement and cultural exchange.

Day 1 – Setting the Stage

The event commenced with a warm welcome from the project coordinator, followed by participant introductions and an outline of the meeting’s objectives. Mamut 2018 provided a comprehensive presentation detailing the project’s goals, expected outputs, and the key activities planned for the 12-month duration.

A structured discussion among project partners—HAŠK Mladost (Zagreb) and MP Sport (Romania)—focused on planning initial activities. The session facilitated agreement on responsibilities, ensuring a unified approach to project implementation. The day concluded with a collaborative effort to set common goals, defining measurable outcomes and success indicators that will guide the project’s progress.

The evening provided an opportunity for team bonding over a dinner at Restaurant Crown in Kragujevac, fostering camaraderie among participants.

Day 2 – Strategic Planning and Next Steps

The second day began with an informal working breakfast, allowing participants to reflect on the discussions from the previous day. This led into a session dedicated to defining next steps, including setting timelines, assigning roles, and identifying upcoming milestones.

A key focus was on administrative and reporting requirements, ensuring all partners were aligned on communication protocols, documentation standards, and financial reporting obligations. Clarity on these processes will contribute to the project’s transparency and efficiency.

Finalizing the Roadmap

The meeting concluded with a summary of key agreements and a plan for the next online coordination meeting. With a clear strategy in place, the DIASPORTCAMP project is now well-positioned to move forward successfully.

Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this exciting journey to enhance sports engagement and cultural exchange across Europe!
